Why a 'Parents' page on a youth ministry website?

Great question!  Survey after survey tells me one thing as the youth pastor:  I can play a role in your child's
spiritual development, but there is no influence in a child's life like their Parents.  Every survey I've read in 16 years
of youth ministry dealing with influence in the life of a teenager has the youth minister in the #3, #4 or #5 spot.
Parents and friends always take the top two spots.

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your
children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie
down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your
eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."
(Deuteronomy 6:6-9 ESV)

Those surveys confirm what God already told us thousands of years ago:  the parents are (were designed to be)
the primary spiritual shapers and influencers in a child's life.

So this page is to provide resources for you, the Parent, to do exactly what Deut. 6 commands.  As a youth
ministry we want to be sure you know what your youth is being taught and give you some resources to follow-up
at home.  As we continue to develop this page, the aim is to have a variety of resources to help you as you invest
in and raise up your teen.  See below for the resources currently available.  And if need a resource but don't see it
here, feel free to contact Bill!
